We are looking for a diligent and hardworking individual to join our Kitchen team here at Sachins as a Kitchen Assistant.
Our iconic Forth Banks restaurant is one of Newcastle upon Tyne’s most beloved Punjabi restaurants. We are incredibly proud of our long-standing reputation as a spot for culinary excellence, and it is the hard work of our kitchen team members that makes this possible.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will put the work in behind the scenes in order to ensure our guests have the very best possible experience with us.
The successful candidate will be a conscientious individual who has previous experience in a similar working environment and will be adept at thinking on their feet and remaining calm and collected even during busy peak hours.
Kitchen Assistant responsibilities:
Kitchen Assistants are the unsung heroes of any excellent restaurant.
As a key member of the kitchen team, our Assistant’s role is integral to the smooth-running of service. Responsibilities will include washing, drying and putting away all crockery and kitchen equipment and keeping the kitchen clean and orderly. Other duties will include assisting with food preparation.
The successful candidate will be expected to think on their feet and be responsive to the needs of those working around them.

- Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment
- Strong ability to work well as part of a team
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to remain composed and work well under pressure
- Good organisational skills and a keen eye for cleanliness and order
